TPD is a Total and Permanent Disability insurance usually available within your superannuation fund that will provide you with a lump-sum payout if you're sick and/or injured and cannot return to work in your occupation.
From now knowing what the definition is, if you know you have TPD insurance available to you within your super fund, and you fall ill or an injury occurs, impacting your ability to either return to work normally or you're thinking of eventually leaving the workforce due to this, you'll most likely be eligible to make a claim.
